Cirque du Soleil to lead game-changing discussions at MIPIM UK

Paris, 9th July, 2018 – MIPIM UK, Britain’s leading real estate event, will examine the changes taking place in the property sector as digital and social transformation are putting people and end-users at the centre of real estate-related decisions.

Keynote speakers will explore the theme of creating a culture of innovation. Jean David, one of the co-founders of Cirque du Soleil, will discuss the theory behind the ‘blue ocean strategy’ (the creation by a company of a new, uncontested market space that makes competitors irrelevant and that creates new consumer value) and how to become a game-changer.

In its 5th year, MIPIM UK 2018 will focus on this period of unprecedented social, economic and political change under the theme of game-changing. Just how is the UK real estate market adapting to this change? Who are the innovators leading property into this new era? Who are the disruptors challenging the old business models and ushering in the new? Who are the game-changers setting new parameters for the real estate market? How are they making a difference?
The 2-day event, held at London Olympia from 17-18 October 2018, will again provide an essential discussion and networking platform for the very best and brightest in UK property to debate the big issues in real estate and to shape the future of the industry.

Ronan Vaspart, Director of MIPIM Events at Reed MIDEM, said: “If we can be sure of anything right now, it is that the world is experiencing a period of dramatic change. While many of the issues facing real estate may be global in scale, they are also local in terms of impact. However, where there is change, there is opportunity and that is exactly what MIPIM UK 2018, aims to identify. Over the course of two days, the conference will showcase the innovators leading property into this new world, the disruptors challenging the old business models and ushering in the new and the game-changers setting new parameters for the real estate market.”

Organised by Reed MIDEM, a subsidiary of Reed Exhibitions, MIPIM UK is attended by leading private and public sector real estate decision-makers operating at a national, regional and local level in cities throughout England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Over 50 conference sessions will take place over the two days, covering a diverse range of topics, including the Brexit effect, infrastructure, urban regeneration, development lending, taxation and the future role of the property agent, solutions to the UK’s housing crisis, the role of housing associations, tax and stamp duty, and the future of the private rented sector (PRS).
